Flooring is one of the first things a prospective buyer sees when entering a home, so it’s one of the most critical updates that can be made to the home. Whether you’re listing your home for sale, or moving into a new home and wanting to update the flooring, consider a few options that will stand the test of time. For example, hardwood flooring is classic, trend-proof and appeals to everyone.
If hardwood flooring doesn’t suit your lifestyle, or your budget, consider tile floors. Modern tile floors are 16” or larger. The smaller tiles are no longer in style, and aren’t attractive to prospective buyers as they are dated and show the home’s age. Travertine tiles are always in style, especially when arranged in a brick or Versailles pattern.
Wood-look, plank style porcelain tile floors are becoming more popular, and are an option to consider. However, be careful with these types of tiles as the smaller, more colorful plank tiles often don’t translate well to prospective buyers as they may look too “busy” and inexpensive. As always, the Sibbach Design Services team is here and ready to assist you with the design of your own home.
